EXCESSIVE SWEATING (HYPERHIDROSIS)

BOTOX sweating

Excessive sweating could be as a result of primary hyperhidrosis (with no clear underlying cause) or secondary hyperhidrosis (due to an underlying cause such as hyperthyroidism).

Sweat glands in patients with primary hyperhidrosis do not demonestrate any histopathologic changes or glandular hyperplasia (overgrowth).

Treatments offered at Brio Medical:

  • Medical review to exclude possible underlying cause (secondary hyperhidrosis) and appropriateness of the treatment offered

  • Injectable medications. These medications work to block the excretion of sweat from the glands (The treatment usually lasts for a few months).

Notice: All treatments are subject to a referral from your GP and a prior consultation with us to ensure suitability of treatment.
