BBL for skin rejuvenation
BBL is an advanced IPL using broadband light. BBL is used to send light energy deep into the skin to treat benign skin pigmented lesions, and skin vascular lesions (including diffuse redness).
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Any area of body can be treated. The most common areas are those exposed to the damaging effect of sunlight. Most people ask for treatments on the face, neck, back of the hands, chest and shoulders.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. This needs to be discussed with the treating doctor.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THE PROCEDURE?
Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Typically there is no need for topical anesthetic. However, your treating doctor may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. You may feel a quick, warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER?
This is a non-invasive and gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to apply makeup, return to work and resume most of your activities immediately.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?
You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions, you will see a darkening of the treated area followed by fading and flaking off at later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will diminish . Results depends on your condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated. It is important to follow your doctor's post treatment plan. Your doctor will provide you with more information on what to expect as well as aftercare plan that will involve avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen.
Notice: All treatments are subject to a referral from your GP and a prior consultation with us to ensure suitability of treatment.
